It is important to remember that for any Nepal and Tibet adventure holiday you will need a passport with minimum 6 months remaining validity at the completion of the trip.

If you don't have a passport, apply for one in good time. If you do have a passport, check the expiry date.

To secure your booking and avoid incurring additional charges, you must provide information on your booking form precisely as it is shown on your passport.



Australian, USA, UK and EU passport holders require entry visa to Nepal. You can obtain Nepal entry in an uncomplicated and convenient way on arrival to Kathmandu airport as well as at any land entry point to Nepal.

There are number of visa types available from 30 days to 90 days. There is also complementary free 5 days visa available for tourists who transit to India or Tibet.

Most of tourist staying in Nepal for less than 30 days will require single entry visa. For more complicated travel arrangement please contact us for advice.

Travelers for Tibet, who intend to stay in Kathmandu less than 5 days, require only 5 days free visa.

To obtain the visa you will require one passport size photo, completed application form and visa fee payable cash in any major world currency.



Travel to Tibet can be made simple, complicated or impossible if you don’t follow basic standard steps. Nepalese government has special travel arrangements with Chinese government. To take advantage of these you must not have current Chinese visa in your passport. You can obtain Tibet Travel Permit for your tour in Chinese Embassy in Kathmandu. We will arrange it for you within 3 working days or with a special fee it can be arranged within 24 hours.

If you travel with us we will arrange your permit prior to your arrival to Kathmandu, so you can leave for Tibet next morning.

Please note that Chinese may close their border any time without notice, so please contact us for advice on the best time to travel to Tibet to avoid border closures.



It is a condition of adventure travel with Snowy Horizon Adventure that all participants obtain travel insurance, which covers costs of medical evacuation including helicopter rescue.

You will be your responsibilities to cover such costs and rescuers will request cash payment from you for the service unless you have made prior arrangements. We require viewing your insurance policy before starting of the adventure.
